JANUARY. It’s finished now. Good riddance to it.
It was largely cold and rubbish. But it produced some good music and some good music videos.
Here are my ten favourite tracks I’ve written about on this here blog so far in 2011. If you’ve missed any of them, go and check them out. You won’t regret it.
What have I missed that’s rocked your January?
Song of the month: Visions of Trees – Sometimes it Kills. It sort of makes me cry. And is possibly “2011′s answer to Enya” (Cheers Ben).
Cool video of the month: Sleigh Bells – Rill Rill. YEAH.
Stalking tease of the month: Lykke Li – I Follow Rivers . Literal.
Duran Duran video of the month: Patrick Wolf – The City. Top of the mornin’ to you, too, Pat.
Bums of the month:Chilly Gonzales – You Can Dance. And boobs.
Scandinavian of the month: Oh Land – White Nights (and especially the Twin Shadow remix)
Most intensely intense thing of the month: CREEP ft. Romy XX – Days. Deep.
Remix of the month that isn’t the Oh Land remix: Grouplove – Colours (Captain Cuts Mix). Bouncy.
Banger of the month: Alex Metric & Steve Angello – Open Your Eyes. BUT WHO IS THE INDIE LEGEND?
Happy thing of the month: Those Dancing Days – I’ll Be Yours. Lovely.
Bonus track of the month: CocknBullKid – Hold On To Your Misery. I can’t count.
