
What’s that sound? Fanfare? Trumpets? Hysterical screaming? No, it’s actually tumbleweed. Festive tumbleweed, perhaps. Everyone’s pretty much in a holiday mood now, I’m assuming, so now is clearly the best time to sneak out the much-anticipated (HA!) conclusion to my annual rundown of tunes of the good variety.

The world of pop would surely be a better place if Annie/her record label(s) could get their act together. This is technically the third single from the near-mythical Don’t Stop album, which has been being worked on since late 2006 and due a release for over a year.
Not a new song then, technically, but a new video. Like the vid for the excellent Anthonio, it’s a bit half-arsed, filmed on a photoshoot in a spare five minutes between assembling necklaces made out of lipsticks (cool). Thankfully the song is still awesome – and Don’t Stop even has an official release date (early October). Who knows, it may even happen…

This is incredibly late for the simple reason that I refused to believe that the horrible shoddy video below was the official version.
Anyway, I’m bored of caring now because this is so plainly one of the best singles of this year that it needs a post on here. Why’s it ace? It’s ace because it’s got that delicate, hands in the hair, beautiful balearic type thing going on, rather than the second rate electro pastiche nonsense that previous single ‘I Know Ur Girlfriend Hates Me’ was all about.
I suppose in a sense it’s to Annies credit that the video doesn’t go the obvious route of riding around on scooters and frolicking in some Mediterranean paradise, but anyway, rubbish video, great tune.
