Robortom ft. Au Revoir Simone – Paganini Rocks

Jan 03 2011 Published by MV under Future Hits

It’s the start of a New Year, so I thought I’d kick things off again properly round these parts. If you’re on the blog itself, you’ll notice I’ve given it a lick of paint for 2011. It’s only a template, so not especially distinctive, but it hopefully makes things a bit more usable for the time being.

ANYWAY. This is a song that popped up a month or so ago (as will be the theme until 2011 really gets going with decent new material).

It has some plus points and some minus points:

- It’s a dance music track based (pretty much entirely) on a classical music sample. Yawn, right?
+ It features the ever-wonderful Au Revoir Simone and their lovely voices.
- It’s called “Paganini Rocks”, FFS. Even William Orbit could have shat out a less offensive title.
+ It’s actually pretty amazing.
- Rob da Bank and Tom Middleton are calling themselves “Robortom”. DO YOU SEE WHAT THEY DID THERE?
+ LOUIS LA ROCHE done a remix. Predictably awesome and available here.

So that’s you told, “Robortom”.

Numbers 30 to 21 are behind the clicK…

Not a “real” video as such, but a pretty one regardless and it suits the lovely, lovely track it accompanies perfectly. ‘Still Night, Still Night’ is a downbeat indie-pop gem, and it doesn’t get any better than this. Magical.

Normal service should be resumed next week…
